MEWP 3-piece (1b,3b,3a) Operator Certification (Classroom)

In-Person

This in-person training allows students to obtain the necessary knowledge and skills required to operate Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPs) safely. This course covers boom (3b), scissor (3a) and towable/crawler (1b) lifts. Upon successful completion of the classroom theory and final written exam, students must successfully complete the hands-on practical evaluation for each piece of equipment to receive operator certification.

Topics include:

Responsibilities as a user and operator
Conducting a pre-start inspection
Conducting a workplace inspection
Various types of equipment
Safe operation
Preventing accidents and identifying hazards in operation

Note: This is not recognized as fall protection or working at heights training. Required prerequisite course in Ontario is “Working at Heights”. Fall Protection is recommended in all other locations.
