Timothy was born and raised in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.  Following high school, he joined the military in 1986 serving in the combat arms and as a firefighter. He retired in 2007 concluding his long and distinguished career as a course director managing a Level 2 firefighting department and hazmat technology department.

Following the military, he worked for a few safety companies as lead firefighter teaching industrial and ship staff firefighting techniques and confined space rescue.  Timothy was a trainer at MacFarlands when Sunbelt Rentals acquired them in 2002. After a short break to do a one-year contract conducting hazmat capabilities on a few military bases, he returned to Sunbelt Rentals in 2024 as a safety trainer.  

Timothy holds multiple training certificates in firefighting, hazmat, and confined space.  In addition, he teaches Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry, End-Frame / X-Brace Scaffolding, MEWP, forklift, and telehandler equipment operating certification courses. Providing top-notch customer service is what drives his success in the training role.

Timothy has provided training at hundreds of workplaces across Canada, the USA, and Europe in a multitude of settings including farms, mines, factories, warehouses, recycling plants, fish plants. 

Timothy is married and has two grown children in their 30’s and three grandchildren which he adores.
